Marcella Veronica Gutoski Coulas

COULAS, Marcella Veronica (nee Gutoskie) Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Lanark Long Term Care Centre, at the age of 89. Born in Killaloe, ON to James Gutoskie and Anna Brezinskie. After the early death of Anna, Marcella lived with her paternal grandparents Mary Prince and Anthony Gutoskie and was dearly loved by her stepmother Anna Chapeskie. Her first husband, Joseph Maziarz, died in the war; she was later remarried to Lawrence Coulas. Dear sister of Anna Mae, Ambrose, Raymond, Jack and Howard. Loving mother to Donna Morrell (David), Diane Batty (Michael), Gail Coulas (David Lewis) and Cecelia Coulas (Margaret Tamblyn). Cherished grandmother of Gregory Batty (Cheri), Cheryl Grimson (Gavin), Lisa Haldenby (Mark), Sarie Sanchez (Andy), Shawn Fink (Isabel Silveira), Regan Fink (Sam LeDrew), Adam Lewis and Anne Lewis. Great-grandmother of Ross, Eilidh, Kelly, Colin, Jesse, Joshua, Brent, Robyn, Catherine, David, Isaac, Liam and Jacob. Predeceased by her siblings Stella, Margaret, Catherine (Eleanor), Cecelia, Susan, Bernice, Maxmillan (Maxie) and Leonard. Also predeceased by her beloved daughter Deborah (1981), her grandson Matthew (1987) and her great-granddaughter Natalie Sanchez (2009). She loved all of them deeply and missed them dearly. Marcella was a member of St. Teresa's Church and a participant in the Catholic Women's League since the late 1950's. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Lanark, especially the staff on Chestnut who created a "home" for Marcy and treated her with dignity and compassion. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 18th from 7-9 at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. W., Kitchener. Funeral mass will be said on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 a.m., at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Edwin St., Kitchener, interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow in the Family Centre of Ratz & Bechtel Funeral Home on King St. in Kitchener.
