His career as an educator spanned numerous boards in Southern Ontario’s Catholic Schools, including Toronto, Waterloo, Brant Haldimand-Norfolk and Durham, in the role of teacher, consultant for the gifted, vice principal and principal. Locally he was with W.C.D.S.B. as principal of St. Mark, Our Lady of Grace and Canadian Martyrs Schools where he worked tirelessly for the benefit of his students and each school community.
Having grown up the youngest of 9 children in the Irish community of Ennismore, Michael remained a farm boy at heart and held a special affinity for the Mennonites and auctions at St. Jacobs Farmers Market that drew him back to reside here after his retirement.
His tremendous “Irish wit” that remained vibrant to the end will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
