Muriel Darroch Shanks

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Muriel Shanks at Grand River Hospital on Friday February 25th, 2011 in her 72nd year. Dearly loved, long time companion of Brian Steepe of Kitchener, Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her children; Kim (Marlene), Jerry Wayne (Barb) , Carol Ann all of Kitchener, her step- daughter Sherry (Dan) of Ayr, her ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also left to mourn her loss are her siblings; Sharon (Murray) of Kitchener, Lester (Sue) of Alberta, Wayne (Helga) of Kitchener, Samuel (Debbie) of Saskatchewan and Marlene (Gary) of Kirkland Lake. Muriel will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and by her faithful dog Shep. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Irene Darroch (neeLockhart), and by her siblings; Joan, Angus, Betty, Mary, Carol, Donna Jean, Andrea and David. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff of Grand River Hospital I.C.U. for their support and care during this most difficult time.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Marilyn Rushton officiating.
