Nick Rutka

Nick quietly passed away, in his 90th year, on May 12, 2012 at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener-Waterloo Health Centre.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ellen, loving father to Sharon Rutka of Barrie, Roy (Anne-Marie) of Waterloo, and Kenneth of Toronto. Cherished grandfather to Colleen (Ryan) of St. Andrews, Scotland, Candace (Alex) of Singapore and Douglas of Vancouver, and great grandfather to Lawson, Hailey and Kalan. Loving brother to Victoria Stezik of Oshawa, Sherry Purdy of Vancouver and the late Mary Riegle formerly of Kitchener. Beloved uncle to Sylvia Valentine (George) of Courtice, Marlene Barhry of Terrace Bay, B.C. Betty Hicks (Ken) of Belleville, Ron Stezic and Bill Stezik (Jackie) of Oshawa. Friends will be received at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Nick’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 with interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Concord.
