Mrs. Ruth Schram

Died at Winston Park Nursing Home on Thursday, July 15, 2010 after a difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Sadly missed by her dear husband Matthew, son Mark Schram and his wife Debbie, daughter Susan Forwell Recchia and her husband Joe Recchia and grandsons Ryan Forwell, Elliot Forwell and Mattie Schram. Survived by her sister Irene Rose, brother Herb (Sophie) Hiuser, brother LaVerne (Norma) Hiuser, sister-in-law Mary Hiuser, brothers-in-law Peter (Florence) Schram and Robert Schram and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth had many varied interests and skills. She loved to paint and held art lessons in her home in Southampton and served as the president of the North Shore Artists Association there. She had a passion for gardening and swimming and was able to pursue these pleasures during the time that she and Matt lived on the lovely shore of Lake Huron. Ruth enjoyed travel and particularly enjoyed the winters she was able to spend with Matt in Florida. Educated in later life as an optician, she ran her own store, “The Eyeglass Place” for many years in Kitchener.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel (519-742-4481) 51 Benton St., Kitchener on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
