Valerio Marrocco

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerio Marrocco of Waterloo, Ontario on Friday May 9th. Born in Caserta, Italy on November 10, 1924, he was a resident of Sudbury until 2005. Valerio was an employee of Inco, retiring in 1985 and relished telling friends and relatives alike stories of working for the conglomerate in the old days. An enthusiastic sports fan, Valerio was also an avid gardener. Devoted husband of Adelaide (nee Cristo) since 1956, father of Tony of Ottawa, Angela (Pat) of Waterloo and Sandra (Richard) of Orangeville. Treasured grandfather of Matthew predeceased Samantha (friend Greg), Lesley (friend Adam), Stephanie (friend Jordan) and Taylor. Dear brother of Yolanda of Italy, Giuseppe (Hugette) of Sudbury and predeceased by Palma Armiento, Assunta, Pierino and Eugenio. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W, Kitchener, ON N2G 1C7. Visitation will be held Monday, May 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. with service at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 240 Hemlock St. (Waterloo), on Tuesday May 20 at 11:30 am.
