Born at home on Emerald Avenue on January 5, 1930, Albert was the son of Frank Elree Shipley Sr. and Ida Virginia Shipley. From an early age, Albert developed a strong work ethic that would define his life.
Albert proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. His dedication to service remained a hallmark of his life long after his military years. Known for being hardworking and dependable, Albert spent much of his time engaged in building and remodeling homes —pursuits that reflected both his skill and his passion improving the world around him.
He found joy in traveling and taking vacations, often cherishing the opportunity to explore new places. Equally important to him were the simple pleasures of visiting with friends and sharing time with those around him. Whether working with his hands or enjoying a conversation, Albert brought a quiet strength and steady presence to every moment.
Albert was a devoted member of Grace Community Church, where he found spiritual grounding and fellowship throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Shirley Louise Owens Shipley; daughter, Sherry Denise Bright; brother, Frank Elree Shipley Jr.; and parents, Frank Sr. and Ida Shipley.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons; Steve Shipley (Diane), Terry Shipley, and Gary Shipley; granddaughter, Cindy Seaver (Ed); grandsons, Danny Bright (Blair), Randy Bright (Natalie), Benjamin Shipley (Haley), Michael Shipley, Rob McGee (Holly), Seth Shipley, and Samuel Shipley; as well as great-grandchildren, Silas McGee, Ruby McGee, Sutton Shipley, Blake Seaver, Wesley Seaver, Julia Seaver, Rayne Bright, Luke Bright, Josiah and Nathaniel Bright.
Albert’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, dedication, and enduring spirit. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
