Betty Ruth Levy Ford

Ford, Betty Ruth, age 87, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2012. She was born in Knoxville, TN on March 28, 1924 to Fred and Ruth Levy. She was the devoted wife of the late Levator P. Ford, Sr.; and loving mother of L.P. (Buster) Ford, Jr. and Phyllis of Maryville, TN; Byron Ford and Sandy of Jeffersonville, IN; Sue Kelley and Allen of Warrenton, NC; and Dodie Fisher and Alan of Powell, TN; sisters, Lois Colinger of Knoxville, TN and Becky Matthews of Louisville, TN. Betty was proudest of her grandchildren, Mark Ford and Kristy Ford Carrigan, of Knoxville; Kenny Ford of KY; Michelle Ford Burton of IN; Todd Kelley of Barcelona, Spain; Aaron Kelley of Port Orange, FL; and Deanna Kelley Winstead of Burke, VA. Her 16 great-grandchildren were a special joy to her. Betty was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and had last been employed at the University of Tennessee Hospital. In her later years as she suffered from the effects of a stroke, she loved using her computer and will be remembered by many of her email buddies as a sympathetic communicator. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Pastor Edward Schwarberg and Dr. Allen Kelley officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
