Bill M. Wyatt, Jr was born 6-19-51 to Bill and Nila Wyatt of Monterey, TN. Bill passed from this life into his eternal home on 12-20-25 at UT Medical Center with his family gathered around singing his favorite hymn How Great Thou Art. Bill enjoyed playing guitar and other stringed instruments. Over the years, he taught several of his grandchildren to play and to appreciate music. He was also a great artist using oil paints as his medium of choice.
Bill attended UTK and was among the first employees to be hired for the "data processing" department at White Stores, INC (now Food City). The majority of Bill's career was spent at Sports Belle where he led the IT department. His final position before retirement was with Associated Adjustors Network.
Bill was a very active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for many years where he was ordained deacon, taught high school boys Sunday School, served in the bus ministry and children's ministry, as well as serving on many committees Later he became member of Sevier Heights Church, but most recently had joined Riverstone Church where he has enjoyed serving on the welcome committee. Bill was a very humble, kind hearted, laid back, deeply spiritual (but hilariously funny) guy who lived out his Christian faith on a daily basis.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and inlaws, Bill and Nila Wyatt and Jack and Barbara Gouge. Bill is survived by his soulmate and wife of 55 years Jackie Gouge Wyatt, daughters Mendy Henderson (David) and Carrie McKeehan (Mark), Henderson granddaughters Megan, Kaylee (Kyong), Cori (Joel), Lindsay, Tia. Henderson grandsons Jacob, Garrett, and Lemi (Clara). McKeehan grandsons Brycen (Riley), Corbin, Hudson, Tyson. The lone McKeehan Granddaughter is Regan. God has added to our family five great grandchildren with another due in March 2026, as well as a bonus foster great grandson. Bill loved each of them and was extremely proud of each of them. He would tell you all about them whether or not you asked! He is also survived by his brother Allen (Linda) Wyatt, nephew Allen (Amy) Wyatt, niece Jennifer (James) Harl and several other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of LIfe service will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Maryville Pike on Saturday December 27, 2025. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 with the service to follow at 4:00. Services conducted by David Henderson and Mark Mckeehan. The service will be livestreamed at Mount Olive Baptist Church Facebook page.
