Bobby Ray Johnson, age 66 of Knoxville, went home to the Lord on November 8th, 2023. He was an incredible man with a one-of-a-kind personality. It was impossible to not smile when he was around. He was a devoted father, son, husband, Pappaw, and Christian. He loved nothing more than reading his Bible, enjoying cookouts surrounded by family, listening to music, and playing chess with his granddaughters.
Bobby graduated from Farragut High School in 1975 and went on to work at John Deere as a flooring contractor where his work was featured in multiple magazines. Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Debbie, and later became the father to Skyla and Jason—they could not have been more fortunate. Bobby will be greatly missed, but his light will forever shine on.
He is preceded in death by parents, Helen (Millsaps) and Audley Johnson, grandparents on the Johnson and Millsaps side, and wife, Debbie Johnson. He is survived by his son, Dr. Jason Johnson (Katie); his daughter, Skyla Johnson (Junior Ruiz) and granddaughters, Aryonna Rodgers and Abriella Ruiz; brother, Larry Johnson (Janie); and multiple cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Bobby’s visitation will be held at Berry Highland West (9913 Sherrill Blvd. Knoxville) on Thursday, November 16 from 5-7 p.m., with service to follow. Family and friends will meet for a graveside service on Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens (3176 Airport Hwy Alcoa, TN). Please keep our family in your prayers.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BerryHighlandWest.com for the Johnson family.
