

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline, a beloved author, passionate archaeologist, devoted hiker, and talented artist, who left us on January 24, 2025 at the age of 85. Caroline lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, and a profound love for the natural world. She was also member of Church Street United Methodist and the Murphy Builders Class.
Born on November 7, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana, Caroline developed an early fascination with history and the outdoors, which blossomed into a lifelong career in archaeology. As an author, she wrote numerous articles that illuminated the mysteries of archaeology, sharing her insights and discoveries with readers around the globe.
An avid hiker, Caroline spent countless hours exploring the trails and mountains, finding solace and inspiration in the beauty of nature. Whether traversing rugged landscapes or wandering through lush forests, she believed that each hike was an opportunity to connect with the earth and reflect on life’s wonders.
In addition to her literary and archaeological pursuits, Caroline was a gifted artist. Her paintings and sketches captured the essence of the landscapes and cultures she encountered, showcasing a unique perspective that resonated with many. She also found joy in gardening, nurturing vibrant flowers and vegetables that reflected her love for the earth and its beauty.
Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved husband Asa Fuller; parents Ester Clinger and Guy Clinger; granddaughter, Elizabeth Caroline Bossier. She is survived by her son Farrell Scott Litteral; and her daughter Lori Bossier; grandchildren Ashely Barcelona (Samantha), Christopher Barcelona (Rayann), and Alexia Litterall; great grandchildren Killian Barcelona, Kameron Barcelona, Peyton Elkins, Khloe Blady, Layla Barcelona and Helena Barker; and great great grandchild Madelyn Elkins, as well as a community of friends, colleagues, and admirers who will forever cherish her contributions to literature, archaeology, and the arts. Her legacy will live on through the pages of her literature, the trails she hiked, and the gardens she cultivated.
A graveside service for Caroline will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial.
Caroline will be deeply missed but will forever remain a part of the stories we share and the landscapes we explore.
