Christopher Daniel Brown, born July 27th, 1961, passed away Monday, August 28th at the age of 56, from a brief illness. He was born and raised in the Ball Camp/Karns community and was a 1979 graduate of Karns High School. He filled many roles such as Vernon, the Mayor of Ball Camp, and the Grand Marshall of the Vernon’s Christmas Parade to name a few. Chris had a heart as big as the outdoors and everyone should squeeze as much life out of the day as Chris always did. As an avid UT football fan, and beloved owner of Vernon’s, there wasn’t a sport that he didn’t love, and every person he met became a friend. Chris was an active member of the community, a master of one-liners, loved his wife, Cheree, with his entire self, and gleamed with pride when talking about his children, Candra and Cameron. He had the most selfless heart and raised the bar for everyone to be a better person. He is survived by his wife Cheree Brown, daughter Candra Howell, son Cameron Howell, sister Rhonda Alred (John), brother Michael Brown (Donna), sister-in-law Kathy Bullen (Wayne), brother-in-law Sam Powers, mother-in-law Maxine Powers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Allene Brown. The world is a better place because of Chris Brown, and those who knew him are better because of it.
