Lawson, Clarence Eugene – went home to Heaven December 28, 2014. He was born February 27, 1927. C.E., as most people called him, was a Navy WWII veteran. He was a music director for many years at Island Home Assembly of God. He loved singing praises to God. Preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Wanda Armstrong Lawson; parents, A.O. and Mary Sise Lawson; brothers, Roland (Ruby), and Max; sisters, Hannah (Tom and Lee), Helen (Frank); and brother-in-law, Jack McIntosh (Jody). Survived by brothers, Floyd (Louise), A.O. Jr. (Margaret); sister-in-law, Bettie; sons, Steve, Mark and Scott; daughters, Carla, and Teresa (David); 5 grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Jeremy, Mariea, and Leslie; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, especially Sid and Angie, for the care and loving kindness they showed to C.E. during his last days. Family and friends will meet at Zion Baptist Church, Claxton on Thursday, January 1, 2015 for a 2:00pm graveside service with Ron Lawson officiating.
