

He was the devoted husband of 34 years to his best friend, Tabitha L. Grigsby Bible, and the proud father of Jordan G. Bible (Madeline Brink) and Jacob L. Bible (Vivian Proctor). Recently, he joyfully embraced his newest and most treasured role as “grumps" to grandson Sawyer L. Bible, whom he adored.
Dennis is also survived by his loving parents, Dennis and Phyllis Bible, his brothers Todd Bible and Randall Bible, his beloved mother-in-law Imogene Grigsby, sisters-in-law Osana (Mike) Sutton and Tammy (Jeff) Lanham, and brother-in-law Tim (Vanda) Grigsby, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with lifelong friends who became like family.
A graduate of Karns High School, Dennis went on to earn a master’s degree from Tusculum University. His life was marked by a deep commitment to service, to his family, his country, and his community. He served honorably in the Army National Guard and retired in October 2022 after a distinguished 30-year career with the Knoxville Police Department. Throughout his service, Dennis was known not only for his professionalism and dedication but for his compassion. He received numerous awards, including a Life-Saving Award in 1994.
Dennis had a gift for seeing the humanity in everyone he met. Whether in uniform or among friends, he treated all people with dignity and kindness, regardless of their background or status in life. His quiet strength, loyalty, and unconditional love defined him. Those fortunate enough to be part of his close circle knew the depth of his heart.
A true animal lover, Dennis shared a deep bond with his pets throughout the years. His gentle nature extended to all creatures, and he found peace and joy in their companionship.
Weaver’s Funeral Home, Western Avenue, will be serving the family. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 3, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 7pm. Family and friends will meet at Weaver’s on Thursday at 10:15 am to proceed to Edgewood Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Chaplain, Mike Patty officiating. Pallbearers include, Jordon Bible, Jacob Bible, Randall Bible, Todd Bible, and Noah Sutton; Honorary Pallbearers, Adam Grigsby, Scott Coffey, and Gerald George. Dennis’s legacy of love, service, and compassion will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
