Dianna Lynn Roach Painter of Louisville, Tennessee went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 3, 2025. Dianna was born on October 3, 1951 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Charles and Edna Roach. She graduated from West High School and spent a few years at the University of Tennessee, mostly playing cards in the student center and laughing her way through classes like modern dance and badminton with her best friends. She eventually went back to Chattanooga State and earned a degree in dental technology. She spent all of one day on the job and decided this career was not compatible with her need to socialize. Thus began her extremely successful work life as a secretary. Dianna spent most of her working years at D.M. White Construction Company where she made lifelong friends. She met her husband, Gene in the youth group at Cumberland Baptist Church. They dated in high school and college and eventually married in March, 1973. Like their parents, they resided in Cumberland Estates in Knoxville, Tennessee, where they welcomed three children. They moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1982 where they raised their family, made great friends, and were active members of both Hixson First Baptist Church and Stuart Heights Baptist Church. Dianna retired from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2013 where she spent nearly a decade loving her work in their career center. Upon retirement, Dianna and Gene moved to Louisville, Tennessee to be near her parents, their three children and four grandchildren. Dianna adored her role as “Nana” and spent her time tending to her grandchildren' s every whim. Dianna loved to laugh, joke, debate, and fret. She loved a good movie or TV series. She LOVED to shop. Antique malls, TJ Maxx, & Target were her go-tos. She mostly loved time with her family. We grieve, but with great faith because she is home at last and free from pain.
Dianna is survived by her husband, Charles Eugene Painter; Daughters, Sara Cooper, Lyndsey Donnell (Clint); Son, Benjamin Painter; Grandchildren, River, Lily, Drew, Grey; Brother, Keith Roach and his wife Linda; Nephew, Stephen Roach (Amy); Nieces, Bethany Vaughn (Darren), Holly Parm (Brice).
A visitation for friends and family will take place on June 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM, located at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932.
