With heavy hearts but steadfast faith, we announce the passing of Donna Lee Ann Widener, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born on August 6, 1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Donna lived a life marked by compassion, devotion, and a deep love for both her Lord Jesus Christ and her family.
Donna was a devoted home health caregiver who spent much of her life caring for others. She had a gentle spirit and a servant’s heart, and she treated those in her care with dignity, patience, and kindness. For Donna, caring for people was never simply a job—it was a calling. She gave comfort to many families during difficult times, offering not only help, but also warmth, reassurance, and love.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Donna was a faithful member of Kimberlin Heights Church of God, where she found joy in worship and fellowship. She lived her faith daily, showing Christ’s love through her actions, her encouragement to others, and her quiet but powerful example of kindness and humility. Those who knew her often spoke of her strong belief in God’s promises and the peace she carried because of it.
Family was at the center of Donna’s world. Though she never had children of her own, she devoted her heart to her nieces and nephews, helping raise many of them and loving them as if they were her own. She was a guiding presence, a source of comfort, and a constant supporter in their lives. Her great-nieces and great-nephews brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved father, Donald Lee Widener, her mother, Margaret Ann Baker Widener, and her sister, Ramona Elaine Young.
She leaves behind her loving siblings, Rebecca Marlene Carlile of Cookeville, TN, Paul Blaine Widener of Cookeville, TN, and Monica Carlene Lawson of Langford, PA, along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Though her passing has left a deep emptiness in the lives of those who loved her, they find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. Donna’s life was a testament to the power of faith, compassion, and selfless love. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
