Our beloved Dot, age 99 of Powell passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, grace, and quiet wonder. She was a woman who found joy in the simple things-red roses in bloom, the laughter of family, and the warmth of a sunny day spent searching for seashells on the beach.
She adored her dogs Stratus and Juno, who brought her comfort and companionship over the years. Juno, who passed last year, now surely greets her again with a joyful bark and wagging tail.
She loved taking long drives, often through the serene beauty of Cade’s Cove, where every bend in the road seemed to whisper peace. Her eyes lit up at the sight of mountains, open skies, and the quiet nature. All of her grandkids and great-grandkids will remember the little red couch, her snack drawer, an Oreo, and a cold Sprite on a hot day.
She was a steady presence, a loving mother, and a tender soul who taught us to cherish every moment. Though she is gone, her love remains with us-in the bloom of a rose, in a scoop of ice cream, in the wind by the shore, in the cool nose of a dog’s gentle nudge, and in every family smile.
She is deeply loved, dearly missed, and forever remembered.
