Harmon, Douglas L., age 75, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2012. Doug was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Margaret and Carl Witenbarger and his brother, Charles E. Harmon. He is survived by his nephew, Rocky Harmon; sister-in-law, Mert Harmon; several cousins including special cousins, Anne Hiers, Doris Julian and Clyde Tucker. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to his special friends, Benny and Judy Snyder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hopewell Baptist Church Food Pantry, 943 Kimberlin Heights Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends will meet at New Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM for graveside services, Rev. Rick Loy officiating.
