Edna E. Eagle

Eagle, Edna Earle – age 93, of South Knoxville, passed away on April 22. She was born Edna Mintz in Wilmington, NC, and married William Earl Eagle in 1942. In 1961 she moved with her family to Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, her parents, and her 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Karen Eagle, Tom Eagle and Anna Palmisano, and Tim and Becky Eagle; grandchildren, William Eagle III, Diannah (Tim) Miller, Andy (Margaret) Eagle, Adam (Nicole) Eagle, and Audrey Eagle; and 9 great-grandchildren. Edna Eagle obtained LPN training in the mid-1960’s and had a long and successful nursing career at St. Mary’s Hospital and with the Knoxville Gastroenterology Group. After retirement she was active in AARP, the Gadabouts and the Berry Lift Group. In 2010 Edna became an active resident at Atria-Weston Place assisted living community. A graveside service will be held on June 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jim McPherson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Knox County Public Library, Large Print Section, 500 West Church Ave., Knoxville, TN 37902, Attn: Nancy Petersen.
