Edna J. Payne

Payne, Edna Josephine, age 91, of Knoxville and formerly of Alexander, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at NHC Fort Sanders after a short illness. Mamaw was a member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville and former member of Fellowship Baptist Church, John Sevier Hwy. Preceded in death by husband, Eugene; parents, Bettie and Caney Graham; brother, C.C. Graham, Jr. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Joe Chandler; grandson, Erik and wife, Kim, of Knoxville; granddaughter, Geri and husband, Scott Grissom, of DeBary, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Wesley and Emily Grissom and Eli and Jude Chandler; sister-in-law, Mildred Graham of Asheville, NC; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Ashlawn Garden of Memory in Asheville, NC. A memorial service at First Baptist Church will be held at a later date.
