Hurley, Opal Jean, age 71, a resident of Rutledge, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Ms. Hurley was born in Knoxville. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles but mainly being with family. Her kids and her husband were her life. Preceded in death by parents, William Pittman and Betty Kirkland Pittman; brother, Frank Pittman; sisters, Audrey Kerr and Barbara Warren. Survived by husband of 52 years, Tommy Hurley; children, Sharon White; Kim Lemons (Mark), Sonya Farmer, Kevin Hurley (Marcie), Thomas Hurley (Angie); ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Brenda Johnson; brothers, Roy Pittman, David Pittman; several nieces; nephews, extended family members and special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Berry Highland South on Simpson Road with service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Danny Neal officiating.
