

Ernest Eugene Qualls, age 81, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on March 7, 2025, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
A devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Ernest proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career as an active member of the Elk Lodge, where he was honored as Elk Member of the Year in 2019. Ernest generously gave his time volunteering at the Elks Lodge Shoe Room and the Ben Atchley Veterans Home, demonstrating his lifelong dedication to helping others.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Qualls and Elizabeth Duncan Qualls; his loving wife, Linda Setser Qualls; nephew, Christopher Brian Pease; and Bates Smith.
He is survived by his children, Mark F. Qualls (Robin Overbay Qualls) and Tekka Crawford (Tony Crawford); grandchildren, Faith Q. Gaskins (Justin Lee), Bella "Boo" Gaskins, Cade Overbay (Ivy Overbay), and Corina Overbay; great-grandson, Jaxon Overbay; brother, James Qualls (Janie Qualls); and special mention to CW Qualls, Katie Pearl, Mickey Pease, Pam P. Smith, and Myles Pearl.
The family extends special thanks to the Senior Helpers of Knoxville for their compassionate care during Ernest's time of need.
A Receiving of Friends for Ernest will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
