

Ethel was born on January 27, 1921, in Knoxville, TN. She was raised by mother, Lillie Mae and step-father, Daris Crowe. Ethel lived a long, beautiful life marked by faith, service, and love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde T. Arden, and her daughter, Darlene Arden Brown.
Ethel faithfully served her husband and family, playing a vital role in raising her granddaughters. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she dedicated herself to visiting and caring for shut-ins, attending services, and participating in Bible study. Known for her gracious spirit and warm hospitality, Ethel’s southern cooking was a gift to all who gathered around her table.
She had a standing Friday hair appointment that she never missed, a testament to her timeless beauty and charm.
She will be dearly missed by her granddaughters, Rachael Allmon and Becky Crenshaw, and her great-grandchildren, Terri Waters, Darren Allmon, Grant Crenshaw, Ethan Crenshaw, and Luke Crenshaw. She is also survived by her siblings, Francis McGinnis and Harley Crowe, and was preceded in death by siblings Pearl Mathis, Bertha Mae Cameron, Willie Rose, Grover Crowe, Betty Simpson, William Crowe, and Wilma Jean Overholt.
Ethel’s legacy is one of deep love for the Lord, joy and faithfulness to her family. She touched countless lives and was truly loved by everyone who knew herT
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville from 5-7 p.m. Family and friends will meet Wednesday August 13, 2025, at The Mausoleum at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN for an 11:00 am graveside service.
