

Ethel Sowders Key, 89, of Knoxville, woke up on the 2nd of August in the Kingdom of Heaven reunited with her husband Kenneth; her parents, E. and Bessie Sowders; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Knox County Health Dept. after 27 years of service. She was a long time member of Stock Creek Baptist Church, a founding member of the Billy K. Nicely scholarship fund, avid quilter and traveler. She is survived by daughters, M. Christine Key, Katherine (Richard) Coleman and Kelli Hammontree; son Terry Key; five grandchildren, Alex Key, Jaime (Jeremy) Spencer, Josh Coleman, Noah and Jonah Hammontree; four great-grandchildren; sisters Geneva Raby and Margaret Bidwell; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with funeral service to follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Gene Wood officiating at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery Sunday, August 6, 2017 for a 2:00pm graveside service.
