Pryor Thomas went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2021. He was a gentle, kind and selfless soul. He spent his life sharing the warmth of his soul and the kindness of his heart with all those around him. He was born on November 28, 1936 to Lesal and Guy Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Doneski Thomas, his son Kent Bradley Thomas (wife Jennifer), granddaughters Madeline Grace Thomas and Avery Katherine Thomas, sister Jean Skeen (husband Ronald), brother James Guy Thomas (wife Patricia "Trish") and sister Vickie Jean (husband David). He was preceded in death by his son Mark Alan Thomas in 1993. He was very proud of his sons and would refer to his precious granddaughters as the "apples of his eyes." He was an ordained Baptist deacon and loved southern gospel music. He sang with the Goldenaires and Ole Time Gospel Singers. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation in 2000 after 41 years of service. The family will receive friends on January 2, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park, 9010 E. Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. A memorial service will immediately follow the receiving of friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 3.
