Peacefully. I was cremated and my ashes will be scattered soon. I do not want to sit at the bottom of the closet for weeks. Now I write my own
Obituary. I am survived by my loving wife Jane, and our two daughters, Susan Prichard (Philip) and Julie Clairin (Adrian), grandson Julian
Clairin, brother Kelley Hinsley (Sylvia), nieces Amy Lurie (Adam), Libby Hinsley, Maggie Lucas and great nephew Aiden Lurie. Jane was my nurse,
chef, accountant, chauffeur and sweetheart. I was preceded in death by my parents, Lalifi and Paul Hinsley. I was born in Memphis and grew up
in
the small town of Arlington TN graduated from Bolton High and received a BSME from University of TN. I held several engineering jobs that took
us
from Memphis to Kennedy Space Center, to Ft Myers FL back to Knoxville and then Louisville KY and finally Montgomery AL where I retired in
2005.
Jane and I built a house on the river and have enjoyed fishing, gardening and bird watching from hummingbirds to bald eagles. But it was my
time
to go. I plan to hit the pearly gates with nothing but trust in the words of the Gospel. I have no baggage, no thoughts of revenge or grudges.
I
know now that you must love all. I am sorry to leave my wife, family and friends. I had hoped to gain some profound insight as the end drew
near,
but as you can see, no luck. I only hope that Jesus will smile when he calls my name. Amen. Memorial donations may be made to Rutledge UMC,
7061
Rutledge Pk, Rutledge TN 37861. Family will receive friends 11-12 PM Friday, July, 26, 2013 at Berry Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 12 PM. Rev. Ron Matthews and Rev. Ryan Davenport officiating. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com
