Gladys Mae Jones

Gladys Mae Jones, age 91 of Powell, TN entered the gates of Heaven, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 where she was met by her Lord and Savior, husband, daughter and many other loved ones. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Gladys was affectionately known as “Granny” to many people who loved her dearly. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play, the mountains, yellow roses, watching westerns and eating biscuits and gravy. She is preceded in death by husband, James; daughter, Joyce Ann Jones; parents, William and Mae Lucas; siblings, Kyle, Robert, Buddy, Floyd, Johnnie, Christine and Opal; sister-in-law, Margie Jones. Survived by son, Tommy (Debra) Jones; grandchildren, Kim (Joe) Gandy, Amy (Mark) Jones, Brandon (Whitney) Jones, Leslie (Scott) McCoy, and Patty (Chuck) Prugh; great-grandchildren, Lane Gandy, Jordan McCoy, Isaac and David Prugh, Storm Vineyard, and Maverick Jones; brother, Ronnie (Norma) Lucas; sister, Glenda (Gary) Sherwood; brother-in-law, Bob Jones and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her caregivers, Becky Cheek, Gearlene Jones, and Pat Moss. Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Weaver Funeral Home with service to follow. Reverends Josh Greene and Jerry Cox officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Saturday at Bells Campground Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment.
