

Surrounded by loved ones, Gladys Mae Ashe Patterson went home to Jesus on Tuesday, February 7th at the age of 87 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Gladys was a member of Tekoa Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a blessing to many, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed until the day we are reunited in Heaven. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ada Ashe, husband; Charles Robert Patterson Sr., children; Charles Robert Patterson Jr and Douglas Joseph Patterson, brothers; Wallace Ashe and Maurice Ashe. She is survived by grandchildren; Donna Patterson Pitts, Melissa and Brett Knaffl, Charles Patterson, Douglas and Michelle Patterson and James Patterson; special great-grandson, Anthony Elliott; great-grandchildren; Christopher Pitts, Christina Pitts, Jeremy Patterson and McKenzie Patterson; several beloved nephews and nieces as well as an extended family who knew her as “Mamaw.” Services to be held at Berry Highland South, 9010 East Simpson Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, February 10th with the service immediately following at 8:00 pm with Pastor Bill Dean officiating.
