Glenda S Burnett

Burnett, Glenda S., age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away December 7, 2017. Glenda was a 1953 graduate of Young High School. She was a longtime member of New Hopewell Baptist Church where she was the church pianist for 42 years. She was a piano instructor having taught for 64 years. Preceded in death by husband of 49 years, Ben C. Burnett; parents, Marcus and Carrie Lee Payne; brother, Bill Payne; great-grandson, Maxim Hurst. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kathy Burnett, Kelly and Patsy Burnett, Todd Burnett, Dr. Abul (Wedad) Almatara; daughter-in-law, Brenda (David) Hurst; grandchildren, Patrick and Josh Burnett, Travis (Jessica) Burnett, Jessica (David) Hurst, Kelsey (Jesse) Childress; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Gordon) King. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, Sunday, December 10, 2017 with a chapel service to follow at 4:00pm. Family and friends will meet at New Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00am for graveside services.
