

He was born near New Orleans, Louisiana on February 2, 1951, the second son of Al and Marie Keller. He grew up in New Orleans but settled in Knoxville in 1977.
Glenn received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. In 1976, he entered the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and pursued a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering. In 1978, he joined the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and was for a short time, stationed in Memphis, TN. Glenn returned to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to pursue a third Master's degree in Environmental Engineering. After completing this final degree, he transferred to the Oak Ridge office of the TDEC where he worked until his retirement in the late 20-teens.
Glenn was active in church life especially in children's ministries. He was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and was previously a member of West Park Baptist and Calvary Baptist Churches.
Following retirement, Glenn volunteered his time to the American Red Cross. He provided "on-call" support to local families and individuals in need due to fires, floods or other tragedies. Glenn also volunteered with the Red Cross in multi-day and sometimes multi-week support to disaster locations in other states.
Glenn loved sports and was a patient and encouraging teacher. He was a member of Chota Canoe Club in Knoxville and enjoyed white water canoeing and kayaking. Glenn played racquetball at Georgia Tech and tennis during his early years in Knoxville. He was an avid backpacker and hiker. He enjoyed camping in the Smokies. During a few summers, he pursued scuba diving. During recent years, Glenn enjoyed recumbent bicycling.
Glenn was a master at frugality. He took special pride in maintaining automobiles that others would have abandoned.
Glenn is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jane Keller, of New Orleans, Louisiana. Though Glenn never married, he had several faithful and loyal friends in Knoxville including Jim and Carol Conklin, Trent and Anne Primm, Gary and Mary Alcorn and Elvin and Irene Joseph.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 between the hours of 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville.
