Howard "Red" Martin Williams, age 99, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was a lifelong member of Second United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband and father.
Red was an avid baseball fan, and as a young man, he was a pitcher in the Minor Leagues.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a Sergeant in the Air Transport Command in the China Burma India Theater.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 70 years, Shirley Williams. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law; Linda and Barry Miller; a host of nieces and nephews and his church family and friends.
A call of convenience for Red will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Second United Methodist Church, 1524 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN, officiated by Pastor Charla Sherbakoff.
Family and friends will gather at 2:45 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN for a 3:00 PM graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Methodist Church, 1524 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921.
