

Holley, Jacquelyn G. - Our beloved mother, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Carmelita Ginn Holley, age 86, died on December 10, 2016. She was born in Gifford, South Carolina to Owen Duke Ginn and Ruby Ingram Ginn. She married Gillum Fletcher Holley in 1950 and together they had four children. She graduated from Columbia College in 1951. When she was in her 40s she returned to college and earned her medical technology degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She then worked as a medical technologist until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Concord, where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. She loved music and was accomplished in sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening and was proud to pass along these interests to her children. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, sisters; Frances, Onie, and Irene; brothers, O.D. and Wesley; son-in-law, Hal Swan. Surviving her are her children and children-in-law; Ronda Holley Canter and Ken Canter, Steven and Linda Holley, Lynn Holley, Michael Holley and Susan Long Holley; grandchildren, Jeffrey Canter, Jonathan Canter, Steven Holley, Jr., Todd Forsythe, Katie Holley, Alison Holley; great-grandchildren, Nathan Canter, Jace Canter, Zoey Canter, Livingston Holley, Kennedy Holley, Landon Holley, Toni Morgan Comer, Skylar Michalee Comer, and Albee Aye-Holley. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14th from 2-3pm at Berry Highland West on Sherrill Blvd with funeral service at 3pm officiated by her grandson, Rev. Jeffrey Canter. Burial will be directly following services at Berry Highland West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: www.alz.org.
