

Dicks, James W., age 63, of Knoxville, passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2012 at his home after a two and half year battle with cancer. In 1986 James opened Frussies Deli in Gatlinburg, TN and after 10 years moved to South Knoxville on Moody Avenue, where he operated until his illness forced him to retire. The restaurant is still in operation today and James took great pride in training the current owner. James’ favorite hobbies were photography, gardening and traveling. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Betty Dicks; brother, Thomas; great-niece, Jessica. Survivors include wife of 32 years, Claudia “Sam” Dicks; sister, Judith Keyworth; brother, Robert Dicks; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ashley, Brenda and Karissa of Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with a celebration of life service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Dr. David Eubanks officiating.
