Mrs. Matthew is a great teacher of all time and as well as Mr. Matthew. But not only as a teacher or friends to the student at tsd campus or out of campus she currently will teach and love each every one of us as her own, and as we love her as our own Family She’ll alway be there whenever or whoever needs her. Also she’ll be sure that none of us are alone. So now to the Matthews family it’s our turn to say that y’all are not ever be alone , you have a huge large family in our deaf community. Y’all are in our prayer and she will be deeply miss but never be forgotten. May god be with and comfort y’all with lots of love!

She was a wonderful and funny lady also a best teacher in our old school. She always give us many good positive and advice about our life. We will always remember her and will see her someday. Our deep condoslence to Bob and her family, too!

Ms. Matthews was one of my favorite teacher at TSD in the 80's.  She inspired me to be the best as I can be and helped me with English.  I will always be grateful for the classes.

Janet was a dear friend .   We raised two sons that become best friends , they were always at her house or ours growing up. and Into any mischief they could find.   We agreed it was a challenge at times with Jason and Brandon but ......... both of us knew it took a village to raise a child and we did a fine job it .   You are gone but will never be forgotten !!!  We love you ! 

Janet loved Ryder as much as I do. He always was so excited to show me what craft him and his mammaw made me. I loved her and appreciated her more than she knew.  My heart breaks for anyone that knew her and loved her ... she will be missed. Praying for the family and for my little guy. 

So thankful I had the privilege of knowing Janet at TSD; also substituting for her students once in awhile.   She was a dedicated , faithful teacher.

Not only was she a loving friend, teacher,Mother, and wife... she really thrived at being a grandma. She will never be forgotten.

Janet decorated her classroom to give her students a welcoming place to come.  She decorated in the girl restroom on 2nd floor. More positive thinking. Also  stair landing decoration too.  It was beautiful.

Janet was a wonderful teacher at TSD  and a friend to all. She enjoyed being part of TSD community and was always involved into students’ extra curricular activities. She was a friend to all of the students. She loved to work with them.  She was a good  person to be friend with, too. We had always had good time together either on TSD campus or out of campus. I will miss her very much. My condolences and prayers go to Bob, Jason, and Eric. 

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am  sad to hear that your wife passed away recently.  She was my favorite kewl teacher so much fun.  Sad to see her gone.. I shall miss her.   My deepest condolences with u all..  My thoughts are with you and your family.

Growing up on the same street, I saw Mrs. Matthews from time to time and she was always pleasant.

When I started working at Tennessee School for the  Deaf in the early 2000s, she was no different. Even in the chaos of being a teacher, Janet Matthews always had a warm smile and an encouraging word. The best part is that she was always genuine and one of the sweetest people I have ever had the honor of saying that I knew. She had a positive impact on my life, first as a youth, then as a co worker. 

She will be missed but always remembered fondly and with a smile.

My love and prayers go to Bob, Jason, Eric, and the rest of the family. 

Mrs. Matthews was one of my favorite teachers at TSD. She was a mentor and a wonderful role model. She thrived on teaching her students to do the best they can. She will be greatly missed. Thoughts of comfort go to Bob, Jason and Eric! I’m so sorry on this great loss!
