John Earl Brown, age 77, stepped over into glory, July 4, 2019. John retired from Y-12 and X-10. He worked in children's church for 25 years at Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he faithfully served the Lord in several different capacities. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Andersonville. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Brown; parents, John Herbert Brown and Rosa Mae Brown. He is survived by his daughters: Robin (Darrin) Anderson and Amy (Dan) Ogle; grandchildren: Carissa (Joseph) Smyly, Ethan Anderson, John Tyler and Matthew Ogle; sisters, Betty Gervin and Elizabeth (Bill) Klima, and long time friend and brother-in-law, Bill (JoAnn) Blackburn. Funeral services will be held at Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, 405 Black Oak Drive, Knoxville on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 6:00pm with receiving of friends to follow. The family will meet at Bookwalter Cemetery, 4218 Central Avenue Pike Knoxville at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 for interment. Rev. Charlie Tindell will officiate.
