

Jay earned an Associates Degree from Pellissippi State Community College. He received many awards in lacrosse, soccer, karate, football and hockey. Jay grew up loving to boat on the lake, tubing and water skiing. He was an avid snowboarder and loved art, concerts, traveling and sports. His passion was playing and creating music. His favorite genres of music were rap, country and rock and roll. Jay was charismatic, bigger than life, fun and fearless. He loved hanging out with his friends. He taught us how to be more caring, and non discriminating, particularly for the underprivileged and disabled. Jay was a fun loving person and will be missed by many.
Jay is survived by his dad, Gary Burleson and his wife Julz of Knoxville; mom, Dee Burleson of Massachusetts; grandmother, Anne Crawford of Knoxville; sister, Chelsea Burleson and nephew, Ethan Foster of Naples, Florida; twelve year old daughter, Lily Johnson of Knoxville; partner, Rachal McKinney and their two year old daughter, Everly Burleson of Nashville; aunt, Sherron Burleson and cousins, Alex and Laura Wyrick of Florida; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from New England and Florida, as well as many friends around the country.
Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Brooks Burleson of Knoxville and Fort Myers Florida and grandparents, Jack and Barbara Croke of Franklin, Massachusetts.
A visitation for Jay will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:30pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike with a funeral service to follow at 2:30pm. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm at Whispering Waters Garden inside the cemetery at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
