John Ely Turner IV, age 80 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. He was an avid fisherman, collector of artifacts and knives and was especially proud of his woodworking. "Big John" was a retired painter with Southern Railway where he was employed for 34 years. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, friends and attending church and church functions at Dutch Valley Baptist Church.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Turner; parents, John Turner and Mary Young; siblings, Emma, Norma Jean, Sue, Tommy, Donald Wayne and Trudy.
He is survived by daughter, Tandy Dreier (Butch); son, Buddy Turner (Claudia), Bradley Turner (Beth); daughter, Brandy Vineyard; nephew, Scott Roberts (Sharon); 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine French, Linda Gail King and brother, Johnny Young.
