ALRED, JOHN W., SR. - age 83 of the Karns Community went home to be with the Lord May 10, 2011 at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. John was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Powell. Preceded in death by parents, William and Harriet; brothers, Bonnie, Jesse, and Roy; sisters, Sylvia, and Cecil. Survived by wife of 61 years, Eloise; son, John, Jr. and wife Rhonda Alred; daughters, Phyllis and husband Bill Braddock, Mary "Diane" and husband Stan Estep; grandchildren, Scott, Eric, Sherri, Jonathan, Jennifer, Matthew, and Katy; and 12 great grandchildren left to cherish his memory. Special thanks to the staff of Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. Visitation will be Saturday; 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Weavers with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends will proceed to Oak Ridge Memorial Park following service for interment.
