He passed away surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy. Kamil shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Bahija, who stood by his side through every chapter of life. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and joy.
Born and raised in Iraq, Kamil lived there until 1980, when he made the brave decision to move his family to the United States in search of a better life. Through hard work and determination, he built a beautiful home filled with laughter, love, and opportunity.
Kamil loved life and lived it to the fullest. He took great pride in his garden, which he tended with care and patience. He loved cooking and sharing delicious meals on Sundays, making it his favorite tradition with family. He loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit that took him across the world — from Asia to Africa, Europe to South America — always curious and eager to experience new places, people, and cultures.
He was a man of great heart and presence — always ready with a story, a bold statement, or a laugh that could fill a room. He loved everyone he met and made each person feel special.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Fathil Arabo. Kamil is survived by his loving wife, Bahija, and their children: Sally Ishak (Ray), Dina Mardini (Tony), Dalia Madsen (Richard), and Qais Arabo (Chasity). He was the proud grandfather (“Jedo”) of eight grandchildren: John Mardini, Danielle Ponto, Rena Ishak, Joseph Mardini (Carley), Gina Ishak (Dalton), Matthew Madsen, Marc Arabo, and Caitlyn Arabo. He is also survived by his brothers, Nouri and Najib Arabo, and sisters Fathila and Huda Arabo.
A special thank you to our very dear Ula Guber, who took amazing care of him over the past two and a half years and became like another daughter to our family.
