I first met Kim via FaceTime last Christmas when Mikel came to visit me in Seattle.  Since Mikel wasn't going to be home for Christmas, Nick and Mikel had planned on FaceTiming at some point during Christmas day while Nick was celebrating with Kim and DeeDee.  The three of them were watching a Dolly Parton movie again  according to Nick.  I was a little nervous because I was meeting Mikel's mother for the first time, albeit over FaceTime.  However, my nerves soon disappeared.  Kim asked how Mikel and I were doing and I said, oh we're doing well.  We just got finished making some deviled eggs and we're gonna have some ham later.  Right off the bat, Kim warned me "Okay, listen; Mikel does not process deviled eggs well.  Everyone laughed while Mikel pretended to be embarrassed.  Nick chimed in with Damn dude; I'm embarrassed for ya.  I knew right then, that I would like Kim.  Mikel had mentioned before that he and his mother loved to poke fun at each other and push each other's buttons and I'm glad I got to see it firsthand.    

I also got to meet Kim in person a few months ago when Mikel and I were visiting in Knoxville.  Kim made breakfast for Nick, Mikel, and me and she was as sweet as could be.  You could tell Kim loved her sons and they loved her.  Kim and the boys talked about the good ole days when the boys were little and she told stories on them.  Right before we left, Kim was teasing Mikel about how muscular his biceps appeared lately asking him if he'd been working out.  Though I wish I had had the opportunity get to know Kim better, I'm so grateful to have gotten to meet such a sweet, funny, loving lady.

I have so many fond memories of Kim when we worked together in Energy Division.  She was such a sweet person and a joy to be around with so much laughter. My deepest sympathies to Kim's family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

I go back to all those years ago at West Haven Baptist Church and just have so many sweet memories of Kim. She was just a fun loving and very sweet girl. She one nice girl. We lost touch over the years...I moved away from Knoxville, but as soon as i moved back Kim was one of the first to "friend" me on Facebook. We communicated a few times on facebook and hearing of her passing was very sad for me. Look at how beautiful she remained till the end. I know she was just as beautiful on the inside. God bless you whole family..I will be praying for God's comfort for every one of you.

Colleen and I are sorry to hear of your lost. We both knew Kim for many years from when we worked in the Energy Division at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She was a great person and always nice and friendly. Our condolences to your family.

Jolly and I were stunned when we learned the news of Kim.  I was fortunate to have worked with her at ORNL.  She had an easy going friendliness, an incredible sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a deep love for her children.  Her passing will sadden all who worked with her.

My heart is broken!  I have known Kim since the 2nd grade, and we were like sisters from elementary school through high school.  We lost touch when I moved away but would meet up now and then when I was in town.  The past few years, Kim has spent several days at a cabin with me and my mom and sisters, and it was just like old times.  We had the best time and so many laughs!  Kim you are the sweetest person I know.  I Love you and will Miss you so much my dear friend (sister)!  My thoughts and prayers are with you Gina, Todd and DeAnna, you are all like family to our family too!  I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Mikel and Nick but I feel like I know you from all the wonderful things Kim said about you two.  She loved her boys dearly! I last saw Kim at a high school reunion & was so thrilled by her accomplishments. My thoughts and prayers are with her two sons & the rest of her family, especially Gina who I had the pleasure of meeting again several times when she lived in Chattanooga. Some of my happiest and fun times as a teenager were with Kim. We had a close group of friends. After we both married and started our families we lost touch.
