

Larry Wayne King, age 74, of Seymour was called home February 3, 2018. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on January 4, 1944, to Lewis Hansel King and Evelyn (Kelley) King. Larry graduated from Young High School in 1961 and completed Mechanical Engineering at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant Industrial Skill and Technical Training Program in 1967. Larry served six years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of New Sevier Home Baptist Church and Volunteer Grange. Larry enjoyed working as a Structural Engineer throughout his life. His passions included hunting, fishing, car racing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was known as the go to man to take care of anyone's needs. Some of his most precious times were spent sitting outside with his wife and family. Larry will be forever remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Tiny) Beard King; sons, Michael Wayne King; Charles Russell "Rusty" King and wife Jeannie King; grandsons, Blake, Chandler, Jaren, and Rustin; sisters, Emily Owens and Helen Barringer; brother, Dan (Imogene) King; sister-in-law, Doris King. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Herbert King, Irene Gambill, Juanita Sloan, L.H. King, and Imogene Foster. A Celebration of Life service will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Berry Highland South with Todd Duncan, Structural Engineering Assessments officiating. Interment at Henry Haynes Cemetery beside Herndon's Chapel United Methodist Church, 11 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2018, with eulogy by Phil Wepking. Pallbearers will be Michael King, Rusty King, Mike Sloan, Ricky King, Andy King, and Phil Wepking. Memorial donations for Henry Haynes Cemetery maintenance may be made to Larry King Memorial at Citizens National Bank, 10225 Chapman Highway, Seymour, TN 37865. The family would like to thank Dr. Clay Stalcup and staff for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Berry Highland South, 9010 E. Simpson Road.
