To his final day, Lloyd could bring joy to a room. He was never happier than when he could serve others: be it his family, his church, his customers, or his friends. Lloyd cared deeply for people, and once he counted you as a friend, he was intensely loyal.
He would serve others in so many unique ways. Sometimes it would be to help someone on the sidelines relax by talking and joking with them. For others, it would be a regular phone call (even if it only lasted 2 minutes) or ushering at church. He would often serve through providing food, and lots of it! He was known for serving at his church outreach events by working the grill. He was also known for his homemade apple pies and huge cinnamon rolls. The common thread with Lloyd, when it came to food, was that you always needed more than enough in case there was one, or maybe even ten, more!
Lloyd also enjoyed camping, trout fishing, home improvement projects, and his loyal dogs.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Ann (Ryals) Riske, parents, Lloyd Sr. and Sydney Ruth (Nickens) Riske, sister Virginia Ann (Riske) Owens, and his brothers Edward Lester Riske and Richard Wayne Riske.
Lloyd is survived by his sisters Barbara Sue (Riske) Alemazkour and Norma Jean (Riske) Averitt; his two daughters Deborah (with her husband, Daniel) Horner and Diane (with her husband Steven) Lopez; six grandchildren, Carson Lopez, Derek Horner, Devin Horner, Darion (with his wife, Karina) Horner, Desirae (with her husband, Bryan) Scheideman, and Deandra Horner; and four great grandchildren, Bentley Horner, Ryles Horner, Roan Horner, and Reece Horner; as well several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from one to two o'clock on Thursday, September 11 with a service to follow at two. Service will be live streamed on berry highland south facebook page. Condolences may be offered at www.berryhighlandsouth.com
