

FLECK, LOUIS LEROY, 75, of Knoxville, TN died suddenly Sunday, July 27, 2014 during a family visit to Piedmont, CA. He was born on February 20, 1939 in Celina, Ohio to William Fleck and Anna (Fullencamp) Fleck. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Celina and International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN. He served in the IL US Army Reserve and the IN Army National Guard from 1961 to 1967. He lived most of his life in Fort Wayne, IN, retiring from Central Soya Company in 2001 as Chief Controller after 41 years of service. Many of those years were spent traveling throughout Europe and Central and South America. He was a long time active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, IN and an active member of The Fort Wayne chapter of the Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE). In 2009 he and his wife Marjorie moved to Knoxville, TN to get away from the northern winters. They became active members in Trinity United Methodist Church. Lou participated in several functions there including: Adult Sunday School Leader, Finance Committee, Communications Committee, Church Council, Family Promise, trimming and care of shrubbery at the church and a member of the Old Geezers Group. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Marjorie of Knoxville, TN, daughter Lisa of Charlotte, NC, son David and his wife Lauren of Piedmont, CA, brothers Walter and Carl of Celina, OH, stepsons Christopher Staton of Chicago, IL and Eric Staton of Manning, SC, and brother-in-law Robert and his wife Carol Priddy of Livonia, MI. Surviving grandchildren are David’s daughter Eloise (“Lulu” to honor Lou) Emily of Piedmont, CA and Eric’s daughters Madison Staton and Jordan Staton of Bladenboro, NC. Survivors also include several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Fleck, first wife Norma, who passed away in 1991, his sister Marie (Fleck) Kuhn of Celina, OH who passed away in 2008 and two sisters-in-law, Florinda Fleck in 2002 and Mary Ann Fleck in 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church (5613 Western Ave., Knoxville, TN) with calling one hour prior to service. Rev. Don Thomas will officiate. A second Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (4700 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, IN) with calling one hour prior to service. Charles Crowder will officiate. Ashes will be interred at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN or to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers please give to the Arthritis Foundation.
