Mary Ellen Chadwell Ailey

AILEY, MARY ELLEN CHADWELL age 90 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital with her loving children at her side. A member of Grace Baptist Church, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who guided her children in Christian principles and who led by example. Ellen was a homemaker who enjoyed time spent with her family and tending to her flower gardens. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Emma Chadwell; her devoted husband of 58 years, Thomas C. Ailey; sisters, Eula Collier Moore and Vina Elizabeth Chadwell. Survived by son, David Ailey; daughter, Elaine Ailey both of Knoxville; sister, Bula Taylor of New Tazewell, TN. several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family is especially grateful to loving caregivers, Nancy Capps and Kathy Tharp for their loyal service and friendship. Special thanks to her nephew, Allen Collier for all his guidance and support. The family will receive friends 12-2 pm Saturday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 2 pm. Rev.
