

Mary Annice Carter Lucas, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026. She had an infectious smile and loved spending time with family and friends. Mary was quite creative and enjoyed making pottery pieces that were both useful and decorative. She never met a stranger and welcomed all into her home for a good meal and conversation.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lucas, and son, Randy Lucas; her parents, Hubert and Kate Carter; and brother L. Thomas Carter, Sr.
Survivors include her sons, Barry Lucas, and Johnny Lucas and wife Susan; grandchildren, Jon Lucas and wife Kimberlee, and Sydney Lucas, and great-grandson, James Lucas; brothers, H. Lynn Carter, Sr., and wife, Tonee, John “Sparky” Carter, and wife, Alma, and Gary Carter and wife, Marsha; honorary grandson, Max England, and great-nephew, Jayden “J-Bug” Spicer; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm in the Mausoleum Chapel at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee on Thursday, March 26, 2026, with funeral service immediately following at 3pm with Rev. John Bell officiating.
