Melba Sue Addis

Addis (Duke), Melba “Sue”, age 85 of Knoxville, TN went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church. Early in her career she worked at Regas Restaurant and later retired from Robert Shaw Controls. Sue was a loving mother and grandmother, known by many and loved by all. She was an avid sports fan, particularly Lady Vols basketball. She was preceded in death by parents, B.E. and Ruth Duke; sisters, Peggy Ruth Duke and Margaret Jones; brothers, Carl Duke and Reece Duke. She is survived by son, Dale (Robin) Addis; grandchildren, Mitch (Sarah) Addis, Casey (Josh) Smith, Patrick (Andrea) Addis; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Betty) Duke, Lou (Ray) Randolph, Ina Searcy, Royce (Wanda) Duke, Grace (Grady) Boyd, Shirley (Tommy) Smith; beloved sisters-in-law, Elfriede Duke and Linda Duke; special nieces, Peggy O’Neal and Marilyn Goss; many other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Crest Lawn Cemetery (800 Jackson Rd., Cookeville, TN) Saturday, February 14, 2014 at 1:00pm CST, officiated by Dana Fachman.
