

Mildred Pauline Henderlight Tinsley, age 99, of Knoxville, went home to her beloved Jesus, on Saturday, December 19, 2015. There to greet her was her husband, Reverend Henry Arvlee “Reverend Lee” Tinsley; father, Charles Henderlight; mother, Deffie Koontz Henderlight; daughters-in-law, Anna Jean Tinsley and Janet Tinsley; grandsons, Jerry Tinsley and Terry Valentine; sister, Aretta Henderlight; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kate (Roy) Jones and Janie (Warren) Jones; brothers and sisters in-law: Roy (Edna) Henderlight, Amos (Osie) Henderlight; Charles (Ruth) Henderlight; Howard “Pud” (Jerrie) Henderlight; and brother, James Henderlight. Family member who remain on Earth include son and daughter-in-law Kenneth Arvlee (Gladys) Tinsley of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda (Winford “Slim”) Galyon of Seymour; Mary (Ken) Cupp of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Mary Henderlight of Illinois. Mildred, “Mamaw” or “Granny” as she was called by all, became a second mom to Kenny Tinsley, Jr., Paula Mikels, Angela Sanders, and Lisa Crisp after the death of their mother, Anna Jean Tinsley. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Mildred born on April 30, 1916 walked this earth 99 years. Reverend Lee, along with Mildred founded Valley View Baptist Church on Tarklin Valley Road in Knoxville in 1954. Mamaw saw thousands of souls saved to Christ. She was a Sunday School teacher to thousands of children and witnessed about the love of Jesus and how He can change your life. Mamaw faithfully attended church regularly and sat on the front pew. She ended her day reading the Bible. She SIMPLY LOVED ALL THROUGH Jesus. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregiver, Lisa Crisp. The family also wishes to express a very special thank you to UT Hospice nurses Pam Herendon and April Bryant and the staff at Island Home Park Health and Rehab with honorable mention to Bradley Feagle. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at Valley View Baptist Church, Tarklin Valley Road with Rev. Carl Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Tinsley, Jr, Steve Galyon, Darren Mikels, Ryne Tinsley, Nathan Crisp, Clint Crisp, Jeremy Tinsley, Freddie Allen, and Mike Krein.
