Nancy Louise Swaggerty

NANCY LOUISE PENLAND SWAGGERTY woke up in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Louise was born in Hayesville, NC on September 20, 1926 to Allie and Silvy Penland. After graduating from Ft. Sanders School of Nursing in Knoxville, she worked as a registered nurse for Drs. Bankston, Davis, Gibbs and Howe for twenty years. Louise was a faithful member of Norwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Staff Sgt. Carl S. Swaggerty; son, Douglas Swaggerty; brothers, Aud, Hoyt and Keith Penland. She is survived by brother, Thomas (Janie) Penland; daughters, Linda (Garry) Long and Susan (John) Emert; grandchildren, Donald ( Regina) Long, Beth (Tim) Kirby, John (Amy) Emert, Jr. and Ryan Swaggerty; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday July 26th with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at Weaver Funeral Home on Western Ave.. Rev. Fred Wade will officiate.
