Nell West, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 21. She was a faithful member of Marble City Baptist Church for over 55 years. She asked that we simply say, “She was born, she lived, we buried her” but the time in between those events tells a story of a woman who used her God-given talent to encourage and love those around her. She worked for over 40 years at Cherokee Textile Mill, then at the age of 65 became a Certified Nursing Assistant and finally at age 78, a Library Assistant at the Preston Medical Library until age 90. She lived a life of dedication to her Lord, her family, and her church. She was preceded in death by immediate family members: husband, James; son, David; mother, Nola; and father, J.A. She is survived by daughter, Elaine; son-in-law, Greg; daughter-in-law, Jan; as well as sister-in-law, Ruth and nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life service on Sunday, March 26 at Berry Highland Memorial. Receiving of friends will be from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. with celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to one of the following in memory of Nell West: Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, 2095 Appling Road, Cordova, TN 38016 – to The John David West Memorial Fund; SHOR Ministries, 5525 Chester Street, Arlington, TN 38002; International Church Planters, PO Box 112, Tumbling Shoals, AR, 72543.
