Rachel is survived by Brian Beauchene, children; Skyler (16), Zsa Zsa (14), and Athena (8); parents; Frank and Cyndie Niceley; sisters; Jennifer Niceley, Anna Niceley Barreiro; and her brother Will Horstmann.
Lifelong horsewoman and foxhunter, Rachel was a passionate supporter of the equestrian arts through all phases of her life. Whether trail riding, showing, foxhunting (since the age of 9), training, competing in numerous Combined Driving Events, or teaching her own children the arts of horsemanship, she led with courage, enthusiasm, a great sense of style, and her own signature sense of humor – all while making sure to have a fabulous time. Rachel truly carried on family tradition by dedicating her life to her family’s farm, Riverplains, and by combining her two great passions - travel and riding. In the last decade Rachel had carefully planned and led yearly far flung riding trips with her parents, best friends, and children, and had several exciting future trips on the calendar. She strongly believed in introducing her children to new places and experiences, and encouraged them to take part and excel in as many sports, activities and hobbies as possible. Throughout her life Rachel loved adventure and dreamed big, and she loved to include others when bringing those dreams to life.
Rachel received an M.B.A from Carson Newman College in 2016 and since that time has worked for the U.S.D.A. as a loan officer, helping local farmers of all kinds get funding. She was a strong supporter of local, sustainable agriculture. Her family and her many, many friends will forever be marked by this sudden loss. In the words of her husband, Brian, “We will try to live on as best we can with the love, guidance, passion, and thoughtfulness she always shared with us in her 44 years of life on this earth.” In remembrance of Rachel and her beautiful life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Tennessee Valley Hunt Club. All donations will go directly towards efforts to encourage TVH junior participation and education, which was a personal passion that Rachel held near and dear to her heart.
A receiving of friends and family for Rachel will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McCarty - Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37924, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
